Printmaking Workshop (Art)
The printmaking workshop located in the Department of Multidisciplinary Art integrates traditional techniques including etching and woodcutting, and the more modern screen printing techniques.
The workshop spans three different spaces on the ground floor of the Department's building. It includes instruction classrooms, an etching and relief workshop with three printing presses, an acid room, an aquatint box and independent workstations, as well as a screen-printing workshop with equipment used to prepare photographic and digital screens, printing stations and drying racks for the prints.
Over the years, the Department has made a conscious effort to ensure the workshop is more environmentally friendly, by reducing the use of volatile and polluting substances and transitioning to the use of water-based materials.
The workshop remains open after school hours to allow the students in-depth, independent work.
