The International School supports the research laboratory, PADLab - Post Anthropocene Design Laboratory

The International School supports the PADLab - Post Anthropocene Design Laboratory, led by researchers Michal Pauzner and Architect Oded Kutok, senior faculty at The Visual Communication Department and The Interior Building and Environment Design Department, (respectively).

Pad Lab is a design, research and creation laboratory, that focuses on the relationship between humans and the environment and explores the possibility of designing the future of these relationships. The laboratory develops pedagogical tools for practicing ecological awareness and investigates life possibilities in the post-human era to formulate alternatives to the anthropocentric perspective that separates humans from nature.

Within the framework of PADLab, the International School supported the travel of design students to a workshop at the Royal College of Art (RCA) held in London in June 2023 and continue to support the research activity. The workshop was led by a team of lecturers and researchers from the Information Experience Design workshop at RCA, with the participation of students from other international institutions.

The group of students and researchers collaborated for six sessions to examine ideas for shared life between humans and other species. They engaged in design exercises and experiments incorporating various digital technologies. Among other things, the research explored how to mediate and communicate mutual relationship systems and how our environment influences and is influenced by other species.
