Zvi Yemini

Mr. Zvi Yemini is an Israeli entrepreneur, inventor, businessman and public activist. Founder of ZAG Industries, Hydro Industry and Polymer Logistics
Mr. Yemini Graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion, earned his master’s degree in marketing from Baruch College in New York, and in addition, completed the Business Administration track for Business Executives at Tel Aviv University.
In 1985, Yemini founded ZAG Project Development, a research and development company along with his partners Aharon Eden and Gideon Feiner, who were the representatives of General Electric Plastic in Israel. During this time, Yemini was involved in development, entrepreneurship and consultation to dozens of plastic plants, including continued development for Keter Plastic.
In 1987, Yemini founded ZAG Industries which focused on the development, production and marketing of toolboxes and products for the DIY sector. The company was unique in its innovation, design and sophisticated technological development. Within several years, the company had expanded its operation to 60 countries, with a turnover of $120 million per annum. In 2000, Yemini was awarded the Kaplan Award “as a token of appreciation for founding the company, and turning it into a growing, thriving business, whose products are known for their cutting-edge design, outstanding human engineering, and affordable prices.” The panel of judges noted Yemini's global strategy, which had turned ZAG Industries into an international company. In 2001, ZAG Industries was awarded Outstanding Exporter of the Year from the President of Israel.
ZAG Industries was floated on Nasdaq, and in 1998 was acquired by the American Stanley Black and Decker for $120 million. Yemini remained on in the company as a managing partner, chairperson and shareholder for an additional seven years, and was appointed a member of Stanley’s global management.
The American PBS network chose ZAG Industries as the outstanding company leading up to 2000 and sent a crew to cover the company's singularity and innovation.
ZAG operates from Israel, through its enterprises in Carmiel and Migdal Haemek, and it employs hundreds of workers. Zag products have been exhibited in design museums around the world, including the Museum of Art and Design in New York and the Design Museum of Chicago, as well as at MoMA.
In 2000, along with his partners, Yemini founded Polymer Logistics, which offers transportation solutions for the food industry. The company is based in Migdal Haemek and employs hundreds of workers. The company has registered numerous patents, and its turnover is in excess of $150 million per annum.
In 2002 Yemini also founded Hydro Industries along with Stef Wertheimer. The company’s employees, former Rafael employees, developed a unique engine activated by water. The company manufactured millions of engines that were sold worldwide.
As of 2009, Yemini has served as an entrepreneur and chairperson of TechCare Corp., a company issued on the New York Stock Exchange. The company developed evaporation technologies initially invented by Weizmann Institute graduates, and began marketing its products in 2019. The company has registered numerous patents in its field.
In addition, Yemini serves as partner and investor to several additional Israeli companies that are involved in innovative developments in the fields of medicine, electronics, nanoparticles and ignition. Products that were set in motion and developed by Yemini have sold world-wide for millions of dollars.
Yemini served as the head of the Ministry of Economy's Committee for the Advancement of Design and Innovation, the Chairperson of the Plastic and Rubber Industry in the Manufacturers Association of Israel, a member of the Board of the Export Institute, and was eventually appointed as the Chairperson of the Plastics and Rubber Center at Shenkar College, which has unique capabilities.
In 2004 Yemini was appointed Chairperson of the Tel Aviv Convention Center and along with the company's management, set in motion to promote the establishment and refurbishment of the Convention Center with an investment of 600 million NIS. In addition, he has served as the Chair of Ametz Lohem and the President of Variety Israel. Yemini is the Chairperson of Shenkar College and the Director of the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, and along with Hemi Peres and the institute's staff, is leading the process of turning it into an innovation center for Israeli industry. Yemini serves as a guest lecturer at the Technion, Shenkar, Tel Aviv University and at additional institutes of higher education around the world.
Winner of the Kaplan Award for 1998, the Israel Export Award for 2000 and the Manufacturers award for 2001.
