Professor Gal Weinstein

Prof. Gal Weinstein is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and teaches at the School of Multidisciplinary Art at Shenkar.

His works have featured in exhibitions at galleries and museums in Israel and around the world (in the US, Germany, Italy, and Spain). He represented Israel at the 25th São Paulo Biennial in Brazil and the 57th Venice Biennale in Italy. His individual exhibitions in recent years include: Backwards, which opened at the Gordon Gallery in Tel Aviv in 2016; Light-Holes, which opened at the Plutschow Gallery in Zurich, Switzerland in 2015; Solar, which opened at the Riccardo Crespi Gallery in Milan, Italy in 2014; and Demonstrating Presence, which opened at the Kunsthaus Baselland in Basel, Switzerland in 2011. In 2013 he participated in the Everywhere but Now exhibition at the 4th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art in Greece.

Prof. Weinstein has won numerous awards, including the Israel Cultural Excellence Foundation’s award and the Beatrice S. Kolliner Young Israeli Artist Award.
