Warm congratulations to Michal Loft – School of Multidisciplinary Art graduate – who has won the 2021 Ministry of Culture Prize for Visual Arts!

Luft is a photographer and installation artist. Her works centralize cared-for spaces, marking and demarcating the boundaries of public space, its physical composition and the internal conflicts embedded in it.

In her composition, Luft explores the space between a place’s functionality and aesthetics and highlights the gaps and discrepancies between the two.

This prize was awarded to her for her sharp body of work, which takes a critical look at those collective public spaces and reveals the aesthetic mechanisms on which they are founded.
