Visa
Israel maintains visa exemption agreements with many countries for visits of up to 90 days. Before planning your trip, check whether you need to obtain a visa to visit Israel. It is important to emphasize that the exemption applies only to visas for visits and to passports (not to laissez-passer).
For visits longer than 90 days such as internships, studies (including student exchange), volunteering and work, the appropriate type of visa should be obtained. While it is possible to arrange for a long-term visa upon arrival to Israel through the offices of the Ministry of the Interior, we strongly recommend to apply for a visa in advance and to obtain one prior to arrival through your local Israeli diplomatic representative.
In either case, you must have a valid passport in order to leave your home country and enter Israel. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after the entry date and throughout your stay. If you do not have a valid passport, you should apply for one immediately. If you hold an Israeli passport, you will be required to present it upon arrival.
