Professor Hanna Dodiuk appointed Head the Polymer Materials Engineering MSc Program!
The Shenkar community congratulates Prof. Hanna Dodiuk on her appointment as Head of the MSc Program in the Department of Polymer Materials Engineering. Her term will come into effect at the start of the forthcoming academic year.
Prof. Dodiuk specializes in adhesion and adhesive technologies, polymers, and nanotechnology applications and developments in industry, and is one of the leading researchers in these fields. She served as Head of the Department of Polymer Materials Engineering (formerly the Department of Plastics Engineering) from 2006 to 2019, and was one of its founders.
Prof. Dodiuk completed her doctoral studies with honors at Tel Aviv University, where she went on to serve as a lecturer in the School of Chemistry. From 1991 to 1997 she headed the Department of Materials and Processes at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and was the first woman to attain a senior position of this kind in Israel’s defense industries. Between 1998 and 2000 she served as President of the Israel Polymer and Plastics Society, and was recently awarded honorary membership for her longstanding contribution to the organization
Over the years Prof. Dodiuk has published more than 160 articles in the professional literature, she is responsible for about 20 patents, and has delivered some 160 lectures at international conferences. She has edited two professional books on plastics and polymers, and is an active member of the editorial boards of leading professional journals, and of numerous societies and associations engaged in her fields of expertise. Prof. Dodiuk also serves as a consultant in numerous Israeli and international companies, and in March 2017 she was appointed a member of the Council for Higher Education, where she sits on a number of committees, including the Academic Rank Committee.
