Prof. Ehud Menipaz Appointed Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management
Shenkar’s Higher Academic Council has appointed Prof. Ehud Menipaz to head the School of Industrial Engineering and Management commencing in the 2016/17 academic year.
Prof. Menipaz specializes in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and management and stochastic process applications, global business strategy, and technological innovation. Over the years he served as a research fellow and visiting professor in universities around the world, including New York University, Columbia University, and UCLA in the US, McGill University in Canada, Deakin University in Australia, and Bilkent University in Turkey.
Prof. Menipaz has published over 200 academic products, including reviewed articles in international scientific journals, chapters in books and textbooks, a book on production and operations management published by Prentice Hall, and a book on international business published by SAGE. His research is funded by national and international research foundations, and he serves as the scientific editor in a number of international scientific journals.
He is an elected director of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Association (GERA), and the national team leader of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), a global multi-year entrepreneurship and innovation study conducted by a consortium of universities in some seventy countries worldwide, including Israel, whose findings are presented to elected officials and decision makers. He serves as a founding director of Young Entrepreneurs Israel, as a member of the Israel Association of Industrial and Management Engineers at the Association of Engineers, Architects and Graduates in Technological Sciences in Israel, and as chair of the Ira Center for Business, Technology, and Society.
Prof. Menipaz is the founding director of an international computer memory device company, and former senior partner at Ernst & Young International, where he specialized in promoting excellence, operational and technological innovation, and industrial and economic development in countries, government organizations, and Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, he served as chair of the Canadian National Research Council’s Industrial Engineering and Management Committee, as a member of the American Quality Foundation under the aegis of the US President’s Office, and as a member of the Forum for Sustainable Economic Development in Former Communist Bloc Countries.
