Gal Benjamin and Lior Weinberg, 2022 graduates of the Department of Fashion Design, won first prize in two different categories in Arts Thread magazine’s international Real Leather. Stay Different. international student design competition 

The competition grants a total of only four prizes, and two of them were awarded to these fresh Israeli designers. 

The Real Leather. Stay Different. international student design competition, run by top fashion magazine Arts Thread, stands out in the fashion industry for its focus on the global search for the best new designers in their field, and promotes slow fashion and a sustainable fashion future.

The two graduates of Shenkar’s Department of Fashion Design were chosen from 2,000 portfolios submitted to the competition from 130 academies in 40 countries. The competition is judged by leading industry professionals, including the CEO of Hugo Boss and other top designers from the world’s biggest fashion companies, such as Mulberry and Oscar de la Renta.

Gal Benjamin, who opened Shenkar’s graduate exhibition this year, won first prize in the fashion category, and Lior Weinberg won first prize in the audience choice category.
