We were honored to host Anna Kiper, an international designer, illustrator and lecturer at FIT in New York, for a lecture at the Department of Fashion Design in Shenkar.

During her career, Kiper has worked with such names as Michelle Obama, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry on red carpet events.

Since 2002, she has worked as a fashion illustration lecturer at FIT in New York. She illustrates using diverse techniques and has already published two books on fashion design processes and techniques in fashion illustration. Her paintings have also been displayed in various exhibitions in New York.

“At the beginning of the year, a second-year student approached me and told me that a friend of hers was studying under Anna Kiper in New York. He told her about me, and that’s how we got in touch. We realized she was visiting her family in January, and I thought it would be wonderful to bring her to talk to the students.” Mimi Ziv, a senior illustration lecturer in the Department of Fashion Design in Shenkar told us about the visit.

In the lecture to first- and second-year students in the department, Anna presented illustrations from her books, talked about techniques she uses, answered students’ questions, and even sat with them individually to discuss their illustrations.
