Each year, graduates of Shenkar’s Department of Fashion Design manage to stand out with their collections, which receive extensive recognition from the global fashion industry and the visitors. Their finely honed ability to reflect social trends, coupled with a rebellious spirit and avant-garde design language poses questions that reflect our times.
This year, the collections focused on themes related to the mind and the universal human experience, such as tensions between the body and the mind, freedom and sexuality, fantasy versus reality and tensions between the traditional and contemporary.
After four years of studies, 31 students from Shenkar’s Department of Fashion Design will showcase their final collections to mark the end of a captivating journey, following which they will go out into the dynamic fashion industry and find their way with perspectives that explore the dramatic and constantly shifting technological, social, geographic and design processes.

"Soon the students will embark on their own independent and professional paths in the local and international fashion scene,” says Ilan Beja, head of Shenkar’s Department of Fashion Design.
“Observing the diversity in the chosen subjects for the final projects demonstrates that, this year more than ever, the academic environment at the department is inquisitive, supportive, accepting and individual. It strengthens the design research process, analytical ability and critical thinking of our graduates, expanding horizons like no other.“
The Department of Fashion Design’s extraordinary achievements throughout the years, its unique academic program, and the number of its graduates who have gone on to join the elite ranks of the local and global industry, have seen the department ranked 6th among the world’s top academic institutions for fashion design in the prestigious international Business of Fashion magazine rankings in 2017. It was also chosen as one of the best departments in the world by BoF magazine in 2019 and was listed as one of the ten most innovative departments in the fashion world by Forbes magazine in 2021.
The fashion show will be accompanied by Garden City Movement, the international electronic indie pop band consisting of Yoav Saar, Roi Avital and Yoni Sharoni.
Since they started, the trio have received plaudits in all the prestigious music magazines, and they have played at some of the biggest festivals around the world including Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Pukkelpop, and Fusion. In addition, one of their songs featured on an official FIFA video game soundtrack, they participated in a high-profile Netflix production (13 Reasons Why) and have provided music for the marketing campaigns of huge companies including Sephora and Polaroid.
