Dr. Tal Goldrath
Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering
Dr. Tal Goldrath is the head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Shenkar. As part of her role in the department, Tal coordinates studies in relation to water, energy, and the environment, and lectures in various courses throughout the degree—bringing her environmental engineering perspective to each one.
Dr. Goldrath holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where she graduated with honors. She holds an MSc in Water, Soil and Environment from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at the Technion, where her thesis was "Nitrogen Transformations in Effluent Irrigated Soils". Her PhD is from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management in the Faculty of Management at the University of Haifa, in the field of energy efficiency policy. The title of Dr. Goldrath’s doctoral dissertation was: "A Combined Sustainability Index for Energy Efficiency Measures in the Israeli Electricity Market".
Dr. Goldrath has many years of experience working on complex projects in environmental policy at both the municipal and national level. She manages programs for increasing efficiency and conserving resources at local government centers, and directed the Technion Sustainability Hub for eight years. Dr. Goldrath also works in conducting surveys in various sectors. This has included supervising energy and electricity surveys for local authorities, conducting a survey of greenhouse gas emissions according to international protocols, and conducting comprehensive surveys on emissions and their environmental consequences in various organizations.
She lectures and participates in many conferences, both within the municipal sector and at the national level.
She is certified by the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO), which publishes the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), an international protocol for assessing energy efficiencyIn 2020 she was appointed to lead the Department of Chemical Engineering at Shenkar.
