Shenkar Engineering Design & Art college, a top ranked Israeli academy, offers a semester of studies in Israel, in which you could take several courses of your choice, participate in social activities, explore Israel through group activities and enjoy Israel's rich and diverse culture.
Shenkar is situated on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, a 10 minutes' drive by bus to the city center or a 20 minutes stroll to the nearest beach, where you can enjoy the proximity of cultural activities.
What we offer:
A variety of English-speaking courses in different disciplines which can be viewed here and Arts & Crafts Hebrew speaking workshops that are friendly to non-Hebrew speakers. Hebrew speakers will be offered a wider selection of courses from all disciplines.

Q&A
- When does it happen?
The semester begins on Monday, April 1, 2024 and ends on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. We recommend arriving a few days before the beginning of the semester to get organized and to stay for about two or three weeks after the end of the semester dedicated to exams, year-end events and the annual fashion show.
- Are credit points received at Shenkar accepted by other academic institutions?
Yes, at the end of the semester, you will be provided with a formal transcript of records, which is accepted by academic institutions around the world (subject to each institution's internal decision). Usually, 1 Credit point equals 2 ECTS (European method).
- What extra curriculum activities do you offer?
We offer tours and trips in Israel. In addition, we can arrange voluntary agricultural work for you with the farmers around Israel, if you are interested.
- Which courses can I choose?
You may plan your schedule in a way that works for you. You are not limited to one discipline and can choose from a variety of courses. Please bare in mind that some courses require previous knowledge.
- How much does it cost?
For students who do not have an Israeli passport, the tuition rate ranges from NIS 750 to NIS 7500 (depending on the number of courses) with an additional fixed expense of NIS 500.
For students who hold an Israeli passport, the tuition rate ranges from NIS 600 to NIS 6000 (depending on the number of courses) with an additional fixed expense of NIS 500.
Please note that there will be additional expenses for learning materials during design workshops. Additionally, for extracurricular activities jointly organized by Shenkar, such as tours, no fees will be imposed.
- Are there any other costs?
Living expenses such as accommodation, public transportation, food and medical expenses, Will be paid buy you.
- Does Shenkar have dormitories?
Due to Shenkar's prime location, we do not have inhouse dormitories. We suggest a hostel, sublet or a rented room in a shared apartment. We will be happy to assist and advise in that matter.
- Do I need a Visa?
In most cases you need a student's visa when you stay in Israel for more than 3 months. Please contact the Israeli embassy closest to your place of residence for further information. Israeli passport holders do not require a visa.
- What is the weather in Israel like?
Spring is the best time of the year in Israel with moderate temperatures, July is quite warm.
