Library Rules

General:

  • Food is not allowed in the library.  It is permissible to bring bottled water.
  •  It is not permissible to bring and use Japanese knives, paints and glue in the library.
  • Hot drinks are allowed in a thermal cup with a lid.
  • Please keep silent in the Reference rooms.
  • The Lobby and Security rooms can be used for group work and related discussions.
  • Please put cell phones on silent mode, and use earplugs instead of the speaker function.
  • Permission is required in order to remove any material from the library
  • When you have finished using books, please place them on the book carts in the rooms and not back on the shelves.

Books:

  • Undergraduate students can loan up to 5 books at once.
  • Graduate students can loan up to 7 books at once
  • Book loans can be done up to 20 minutes before library closing time
  • Requested books are kept until up to one hour before library closing
  • Only online book requests are accepted
  • If a loaned book is lost, a replacement book must be bought
  • Loaned books must not be passed from one student to another without updating the library loan desk
  • Books marked "Reference" or "Not for Loan" may not be loaned.
  • Books with the classification written in green on a white tape can only be loaned overnight from 16:00 until 10:00 the next day; or on the weekend from Thursday at 14:00 until Sunday at 10:00.
  • Books with the classification written in red on a white tape, or with a red sticker can be loaned for two weeks.
  • Books with the classification written in brown on a white tape can be loaned for three weeks.

Projects:

  • Please locate the serial number of the project requested in the online library catalogue.
  • Projects cannot be loaned, use is only permitted in the library.

Fashion Forecasts (Promostyl)

  • Perusal of Promostyl is permitted for students, lecturers and subscribers.
  • It is not permissible to remove Fashion Forecasts from the library.  Patrons can use their cameras to photograph the forecasts.
  • After using the Forecasts, they must be returned to the Reference Desk.

Periodicals

  • Periodicals are not for loan

Laptop Computers

  • Laptop computers are available for loan from the Reference Desk.  They cannot be removed from the library.

Fines

  • The library will impose a fine of NIS.5 for every book for each day past the due date.
  • The fine for not returning books that received a recall notice is NIS. 10 per day.
  • For example, a library patron that is one day late with three books out, will pay NIS. 15.

Important to know:

  • If you wish to renew a book for another loan period, you must contact the Reference Desk.
  • The responsibility of returning the books on time is that of the library patron.
  • Fines will be cancelled in case of Illness or Army Service, on the presentation of the appropriate documents.
  • The library is closed on Fridays, Saturdays, Holiday Eves and Holidays, but these dates are added to the global sum when calculating fines for lateness.
