This week, the students who took part in this round of STEP gathered for their final meetup. STEP is an internship program offering students an opportunity to gain industry experience during their studies and to get a headstart on their careers.

At the meetup, 30 students from 10 Shenkar departments presented their internship experiences with more than 20 companies.

One student stood out: Linoy Chubok, a third-year Software Engineering undergraduate at Shenkar, who chose Web & Cloud as her specialization. As part of her Web & Cloud internship, Linoy Chubok takes professional courses in the Software Engineering department, learning cutting-edge technologies and new coding languages. With the knowledge she acquired in her Software Engineering studies, Linoy made an exceptional STEP intern at INNOGRATION.

During the event, Ziv Raveh, Linoy’s employer at INNOGRATION, took the stage and shared his positive impression of Linoy, emphasizing her hard work. At the end of his speech, he surprised Linoy by offering her a position at the company! 

This is an impressive accomplishment. Linoy will be able to get ahead and enter the job market while she is still a student.

In an interview with the Shenkar news team, Linoy said: “STEP introduced me to INNOGRATION, a digital transformation platform for the construction and real estate industry. The platform integrates different technologies and uses data optimization to make them all accessible in one place.”

“During my onboarding, I studied the technology and learned about the tools the company uses. This gave me the foundation I needed to start working as a full-stack developer. Throughout this period, the courses I took in my Software Engineering studies at Shenkar proved to be an important stepping stone to hands-on work.  The lectures I attended at STEP were also very helpful. They gave me tools I will need in the future.

I worked with a team of talented and experienced professionals who taught me a lot, and I was happy to use what I had learned in my Software Engineering studies to contribute to the company. The internship has opened exciting new doors for me. It taught me a lot and broadened my horizons, professionally speaking. I strongly recommend this experience to all students.”

Led by Mr. Roei Zerahia, the STEP program offers several courses that count towards students’ academic credit requirements, alongside a 120-hour hands-on internship at industry-leading companies, from startups to international publically-traded companies. The program aims to open a door to industry for each student as part of their education at Shenkar.

We believe that combined with the Software Engineering department’s excellent program and lecturers, professional internships will help students make connections in the industry and gain hands-on, real-world experience while their employers benefit from their fresh perspectives. Armed with the tools they receive at STEP, the students will significantly increase their chance of finding a job that matches their education.
