Shenkar Members Club members were invited to a private tour of the “If a Tree Falls in a Forest” exhibition, guided by its curator, Dr. Irena Gordon, and artist Aviv Greenberg – a graduate of the Multidisciplinary Art School
On Wednesday (26-Oct-2022), members of the Shenkar Members Club were hosted at the “If a Tree Falls in a Forest” exhibition at the Petah Tikva Art Museum. Among the participants at the exhibition – which included graduates of the National Lottery Incubator – was Aviv Greenberg, an honors graduate of Shenkar’s School of Multidisciplinary Art.
The “If a Tree Falls in a Forest” exhibition deals with the relationships between nature, man and the environment, presenting works of art that were created in the incubator while working in full view of the natural urban landscape surrounding the museum. The exhibition focuses on our influence, as individuals and as a society, on the near and distant environment, the definitions of nature and man and the prospects for their mutual existence, in light of the growing rifts between them.
During the event, the club members toured the exhibition and heard a talk from the artist about his work in the years since he graduated from Shenkar in 2017.

Aviv Greenberg
Greenberg makes use of simple, everyday maintenance products, the kind of products that are usually hidden in storage closets, but in Greenberg’s hands are transformed into a form-based language that puts them front and center.
Using these products, Greenberg creates multidimensional installments that present, in a variety of ways, the issue of cleanliness and how it is maintained. The cleanliness theme resonates with personal aspects of his life, including the repetitive pattern of him and his personal environment trying to beautify reality, to hide it and sweep it under the carpet. Greenberg views these habits as an addictive, Sisyphean, and unrewarding trap. In this way, his creations, made of plastic and chemical-rich liquids, seemingly glorify and sanctify the act of cleaning, while at the same time ridiculing it.
SMC was established as a framework for the active involvement of those seeking innovation, education, engineering, technology, design, art and culture who are interested in a close relationship with Shenkar, with its variety of unique programs that combine advancement, design and technology.
Members of the Shenkar Members Club will enjoy access to Shenkar’s content and activities as part of their daily routine. They will be invited to special events created especially for them throughout the year. The members will join the community of Shenkar supporters from around the world and benefit from being part of international circles in the dawning of the next generation.
