First solo exhibition for Moriel Dezaldeti, lecturer and graduate of the Department of Textile Design
Through shape and form: Out of woven knits, while incorporating silk threads, Moriel Dezaldeti creates 3D objects that she later turns into clothes. Dezaldeti, lecturer and graduate of the Department of Textile Design, works for hours and hours on each one-of-a-kind object as threads are her tool to express herself and to 'paint' on a body.
In her first solo exhibition RedBlueGold that will be presented at the Periscope gallery in Tel Aviv, Dezaldeti will expose a new revolutionizing collection, rich and unique hand made clothing articles. Each one of the objects is a standalone piece or an item that is dresses on the body, through a continuous dialog. Different possible positioning options on the body create different associations for the viewer.

Dezaldeti creates her unusual items through a combination of fundamental textile techniques - knitting and weaving. She uses a mechanic knitting machine to create a world in the space between traditional weaving and contemporary and painterly creations. She asks to restore former glory to this art and to give a contemporary expression to hand crafting in an era and industrial and technological developments.
