From Shenkar to the Metropolitan: Noa Raviv’s 3D final project will be presented at an international fashion show in New York

Noa Raviv, a fashion design graduate, will present he unique final project at the annual fashion show at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in May 2016.

Raviv’s 3D collection was chosen - alongside with world class fashion designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Alber Elbaz - to play a leading role at the exclusive Manus x Machina exhibition that is dedicated to the impact of new technology on fashion.

"I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be included in the same list of more or less anyone I have ever idolized”, Raviv wrote on her Facebook page following the announcement on her participation in the exhibition. “My name is between Yves Saint Laurent and Paco Rabanne and I am still pinching myself."

Hard Copy, Raviv’s stunning collection, deals with the value of an original object in an age of copying and reproduction. Using 3D software she created disrupted digital visuals, then transformed them into materials and finally turned them into a metaphor for the insignificance of "Original" and "Truth" in today’s technological reality.

The remarkable project granted Raviv with the Fini Leitersdorf excellence award as well as an award for fashion designer in the 3D field from an international competition in London.

The Manus x Machina exhibition – considered a flagship event at the American museum – will look into the founding of the haute couture in the nineteenth century and its development to this day. Over 100 distinctive outfits will be presented and will unravel technological, creative and cultural developments of international fashion.
