Designers of the Future: Students at Shenkar’s Department of Jewelry Design Display at the Muza Shop

For the second consecutive year, the Muza Shop – the Eretz Israel Museum shop in Tel Aviv – is displaying a unique jewelry exhibition curated in collaboration with Shenkar’s Department of Jewelry Design.

Shenkar College sees great importance in the connection between academic processes and the ability to put design ideas into practice, preparing its graduates, the designers of the future, for post-graduation life. The project participants gain experience in developing a personal style while creating a unique jewelry collection – a style that comes together through an encounter between concept, design, and material.

Design: Ahinoam Sina

The process starts with forming a conceptual framework for the jewelry and continues by choosing or creating suitable materials. It ends in implementing the design concept using traditional or contemporary technologies, while examining the possibilities in the manufacturing methods.

The exhibition implements one of the principles guiding the Department of Jewelry Design at Shenkar since its establishment – finding bridges and connections between personal expression, uncompromising innovation, and industrial thinking, while addressing the commercial and marketing aspects of jewelry design.

Design: Yahel Menachem

The jewelry on display was created as part of a challenging period for the bachelor’s degree graduates at the Department of Jewelry Design, and this is reflected in the creative work.

Participating in the exhibition: Ahinoam Sina, Chen Eden, Yahel Menachem, Yuval Becker, Lihi Daniel, Mor Berger, Malka Robbins, Noga Kamintzky, Eden Spiner, Rotem Zakay, Sara Harris Yansen, Sari Michael, Tamar Badani.

Lecturers: Eyal Shinbaum, Orina Maretzki

Curators: Yona Harel, Elad Tsriker – Muza Shop Manager

The exhibition will be on display until December 16, 2021 at the Eretz Israel Museum’s design shop. 2 Haim Levanon St., Tel Aviv.
