Two new books edited by Prof. Hanna Dodiuk: about thermoset plastics and adhesion science
The "Handbook of Thermoset Plastic" - edited by Prof. Dodiuk - covers a wide range of subjects related to thermoset plastics like: chemistry of thermoset curing, its physical, mechanical and thermal properties dependency on composition and processing conditions. In addition the applications of thermoset plastics are analyzed for aerospace, aviation, medicine, automotive, electrical and electronics.
Other staff members of the department contributed to the book: Dr. Anna Dotan wrote the chapter on thermosets from renewal resources- a novel and highly important subject. Prof. Kenig and Dr. Olga Shepelev added a chapter dealing with investigations and applications of nanotechnology in thermoset plastics.
The book contains 18 chapters and closed to 800 pages that were written by 25 scientists and technologists from all over the world: Europe, North and South America, Far and Middle East (Israel and even Saudi Arabia!).
The handbook which is one of a kind is aimed to expose research and development personnel, students and end users to the state of the art of thermoset plastics. The reader would be able to find in the book the needed information for his/hers work and area of interest. To the teachers in the academia, to students in science and engineering, the book will serve as reference and the basis for lectures and information in this wide field of plastics science and technology.
The book "Recent Advances in Adhesion Science and Technology" contains selected papers written by world-renowned researchers. Each one of them offer insight into recent developments and the significant ramifications to adhesion science and adhesive technology.
Nineteen articles are divided into five sections: Interfaces, Wettability, and Adhesion; Surface Modification of Polymers; Adhesion Aspects of Bio-Based Materials and Bioadhesion; Adhesives and Their Testing; and Nanomaterials and Nanocomposites.
The 2 books ware circulated worldwide in universities, in academic and industrial research centers. The festive launching of the book in Israel will take place during the Board of Governors Meeting of Shenkar in May 2014!
