Lecturer and alumnus Neil Nenner, from the Department of Industrial Design, has won the 2015 Ministry of Culture and Sport’s design award

"His work stood out thanks to a unique combination of industrial material and technologies together with softer materials and techniques from the world of hand crafts", said the judging panel after awarding Neil Nenner with the 2015 design award by the Ministry of Culture and Sport.

"In his work, it seems as if Nenner wishes to point out the space that wraps objects, and not only objects themselves", added the judges that chose Nenner out of dozens of young promising candidates.

Nenner specializes in furniture, exhibition and product design and has previously presented his work in some of the most famous exhibitions and museums around the world. His recent solo exhibition – Punctuation – was presented at the SAGA gallery in Tel Aviv and received international attention and praise for its unusual emphasis on the limits of shapes and materials. On this matter the judges added that Nenner “put up a delusive impression of space where thin furniture appear and disappear simultaneously.
