Ilan Beja in a special interview for the Fashion Network

Ilan Beja, head of the fashion design department at Shenkar college gives a special interview to Godfrey Deeny of the leading website the Fashion Network.
In the interview, Beja explains the philosophy behind the broad curriculum of the fashion design department, the uniqueness of shenkar as a design school powerhouse and the great accomplishments of the departments' students and graduates. The interview sheds a light on the difficulties and changes that have happen globally, due to Covid-19, and locally by social, environmental and political changes in Israel, and how it all reflects on the fashion field.
Beja explains about the current issues that are brought forward in the department:
"We just had a fashion installation that combines fashion and technology at the Eretz Israel Museum called 'Tech Couture.' Students, alumni and lecturers introduced garments and products that deal with the connection between fashion and technology whether it is in 3D software, virtual fashion design, smart garments, technological sustainability, digital prints, applications for retail world and more"
