On Oct. 2021, 30 Shenkar alumni from New York gathered together at SOSA NYC for a kick-off event in celebration of getting back to The New Normal. Alumni from all the departments of Shenkar attended to network and discuss the future of Shenkar.   

The evening started with President Sheizaf Rafaeli & Chair Orit Efrati, who welcomed the alums. Following greetings from our leadership, Orit moderated a discussion “in the round,” which enabled all participants to share their ideas, visions, experiences - and feelings. Highlights of the discussion included two of our most accomplished and successful alumni, Nili Lotan and Kobi Halperin. They shared their vast experience and knowledge, from their early days at Shenkar to their immense reach into New York and the global industry.

Daniel Altman, Director of Innovation, Development, and Strategy, shared about the plans to strengthen the alumni community for the future under the leadership of Gal Shenfeld. The evening was concluded by American Friends President, Susan Pernick, who welcomed the alumni group as a warm and supportive home for Shenkar graduates in New York.

In short, our kick-off gathering provided a warm embrace and a close-knit space - a little taste of Shenkar - where alumni could be together in the Big Apple. More to come!
