Prof Hanna Dodiuk graduated from the Chemistry department of Tel Aviv University where she received her three degrees: B.Sc. (1970), M.Sc. (1973) and Ph.D. (1977) all with Honors. Following her Postdoctoral stay in Goettingen University (Germany), she joined in 1979 the Israeli Armament Development Authority (ADA) holding positions as Head of Adhesion Group in the Materials and Processes Department since 1981 and Director of Materials and Processes Department since 1991.
Following the ADA service Prof. Dodiuk started her academic life in Shenkar College of Engineering. Design. Art in 1997 where she was appointed as head of Plastics Engineering and Polymers Department in 2006. In 2020 she was appointed as head of Graduate Studies of Polymer Materials Engineering.
Prof. Dodiuk is the author and co-author of close to 200 scientific publications 33 patents and invention disclosure and the editor of 2 books. In 2020 she edited the fourth edition of the Handbook of Thermosets Plastics. She delivered more than 200 lectures and conference contributions in Europe, USA, Australia and Japan. Prof. Dodiuk is a member of the Editorial Board of the "International Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology" and "Reviews of Adhesion and Adhesives ".
In 1986-1987 she spent a sabbatical year as a Visiting Professor at the Polymer Research Institute of the Polytechnic University of New York, USA. During 1997-1999 she spent another sabbatical year at the HPM Company in Los Angeles/US and as a visiting scientist in Bayer AG, Leverkusen/Germany. Recently she was appointed as "Invited Professor" in the Plastics Engineering Department in UMass Lowell. In 2017 she was nominated to the council of higher education in Israel where she served in 7 professional committees.
During her work in the industry and the academia Hanna was focused in the areas of adhesion and adhesives science and technology, surface and interfaces science, functional coatings, biopolymers, polymer nanocomposite coatings and adhesives and Vitrimers Throughout her 40 years of professional life she studied the fundamental as well as the applied science and technology of adhesion and non-adhesion from superhydophilic to superhydrophobic systems.
