From smart knitting needles to an innovative toy for dogs: Shenkar’s unique ACT Design Accelerator Program encourages entrepreneurial activity at Shenkar and assists projects in their initial stages to make the significant leap in development that will enable them to mature and approach outside sources for funding.

Introducing the most recent graduates of the prestigious program:

Emma Margarita Erenst’s "Knit Net" Project 

Emma Margarita Erenst, a graduate of the Master’s in Design Program, has developed smart knitting needles that enable anyone and everyone to specialize in the traditional handcraft. The innovative project was one of the finalists in the international Creative Business Cup competition in 2016, where it gained high praise and attracted considerable interest.

Maya Cohen Zuckerman’s Project

Maya Cohen Zuckerman, a Department of Industrial Design graduate, developed "Snappy", an interactive toy for dogs who stay at home on their own. The concept is based on a smart electronic core and changeable covers that provide dogs with different stimuli and experiences, and challenging and active amusement.

The unique project was one of the finalists in the Israeli Creative Business Cup competition in 2016, and attracted considerable attention from the international panel of judges.

Introducing Shay Rimon’s Project

Shay Rimon, a Department of Industrial Design graduate, developed sharing versions for three everyday objects: a camera, a sewing machine, and a suitcase. He investigated the connection between design and social values, and created a series of products designed for community sharing.
